Senior Account Executive

Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC)

Location Deerfield, IL

ISAC has an immediate opening for a Senior Account Executive (Contractor).  This position requires a highly-motivated, results oriented individual with a history of strong sales and closing success in the financial products sector and the ability to establish and manage consumer and business-to- business relationships. This individual will be responsible for College Illinois! sales activities within the Illinois territory.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Present and sell College Illinois! 529 Prepaid Tuition plans
  • Establish new accounts
  • Tailor content of sales presentations by evaluating the needs and goals of individual leads
  • Focus sales efforts by prioritizing high potential opportunities
  • Support contract buyers through the application process as needed
  • Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity
  • Manage quality and consistency in lead engagement
  • Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge
  • Coordinate with organizational staff to accomplish the work required to close sales
  • Keep management informed by submitting goals, activity and results reports.
  • Be knowledgeable of other organizations selling similar financial products.  
  • Recommend changes in products, services, processes and policies
  • Communicate concerns of leads articulated during sales process to inform messaging or strategy recommendations to management
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.
  • Contribute to team effort
  • Support event marketing through staffing events, and participating in other field lead generation activities
  • Provide on-the-job sales skill development to existing employees

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in business or closely related field or a minimum of 5 years sales experience in the financial products sector
  • Extensive consumer and B2B sales experience
  • Ability to develop and manage consistent sales pipeline including extensive contacts and relationships with agencies, school districts and businesses
  • Superior business and negotiation skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Ability to develop and deliver engaging presentations
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials
  • Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques
  • Working knowledge of 529 Tuition Plans
  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule requiring occasional weekend and/or evening work, as well as occasional travel
