A
May 8 electronic announcement from the U.S. Department of Education (ED) announces that, effective June 9, 2013, the Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG) data retention period will change from 180 calendar days to 90 calendar days. The data retention period is the length of time during which files transmitted using the SAIG are stored in the system. All files residing in the system prior to June 9, 2013 that are older than 90 days will be removed and institutions will no longer be able to access them. Institutions are encouraged to retrieve all files stored in archive or in their SAIG mailboxes that are older than 90 days, in order to prevent the loss of data.
The Lender Zone of the College Zone website has moved. All ISAC program information and operational guidance for lenders and servicers is now available through this website (isac.org). You can access the Lender-specific area of the site through the "Lenders" Quick Link in the lower left corner of all pages on the site, including the home page.
Redirects to the ISAC website are currently in place for all areas of the Lender Zone of the College Zone website. In order to ensure smooth access, however, please be sure to update your web browser bookmarks and "favorites" to the new URLs at isac.org.
The 2013 Common Manual is on schedule to be released in July. In the meantime, remember that the Integrated Common Manual (ICM) is updated monthly (as policy proposals are approved) and may be accessed via the left-margin "Common Manual" tab at the
Common Manual, Unified Student Loan Policy website.
A
May 6 e-Message announces that ISAC plans to distribute Unreported Loan Reports by the end of May. Once the report is received, lenders are encouraged to review the loans listed and make the necessary data corrections so that these loans can be successfully reported on the next monthly Lender Manifest submission.
