11/07/2017

The following information is being shared by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) on behalf of the Gold Star Mission (GSM), a nonprofit organization (established in 2017 in Springfield, Illinois) that seeks to honor and support Gold Star Families by preserving the memory of our Fallen Heroes from the Illinois National Guard through service to others in need.

Beginning with the 2017 award year, Gold Star Mission will award 34 scholarships of $1,000 each to individuals who exemplify selfless service and honor our Fallen Heroes. The Gold Star Mission allocates funds raised through the Gold Star 500 endurance bicycle ride to support the Gold Star Mission Scholarship Fund.

Specific details – including eligibility requirements, access to the application, and instructions – are available via the Gold Star Mission Education Scholarship page.

Applications are due to the GSM Education Foundation no later than Friday, December 15, 2017.
