2017-18

IVG summer term enrollment hours and benefit dollar amounts processing for the 2017-18 IVG Program began on August 15, 2017 Since the summer term leads the academic year for the IVG Program, 2017-18 tuition and fees are to be used when submitting benefit dollar amounts for summer 2017.

IVG enrollment hours and benefit dollar amounts processing for the fall term will begin on September 16, 2017 and are due on or before January 15, 2018. The start date for spring term claims processing is January 16, 2018 and are due on or before May 25, 2018. Schools will receive a response of "F - Future Claim" for claims submitted prior to the term's processing start date. What is available in IVG at My Zone?

The IVG Online Payment functionality allows colleges to submit IVG claims via the My Zone portal as well as via File Transfer Protocol (FTP). IVG Online Payment at My Zone is a secure, electronic method and is available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. through 7 p.m. (CT).

Select the IVG Program from the list of programs on the My Zone Program Selection screen. The year in the drop-down box next to the IVG program name defaults to the current academic year. The year can be changed if applicable. The first screen to display is the IVG Eligibility: Filter screen. The left side menu includes Views, Reports and File Extract with additional options within each function.  Enter the filter fields then select an option depending on the activity to be performed.

General information about the IVG claim process including claim deadlines, can be accessed from the IVG section within the Gift Assistance area. Details and step-by-step instructions can be found in the IVG User guide.

The following options can be accessed from the left menu of the IVG Filter screen:

Views

  • Student Info

IVG eligibility data is available to view online in the Student Info View at My Zone. After entering the filter information fields, colleges can monitor whether a veteran has remaining IVG eligibility and view a complete payment history for all veterans on record that can be sorted in both a Social Security Number (SSN) order and alpha order
  • Payment List

The Payment List option provides access to several screens used to create a list of students to include in an IVG claim, the ability to complete and submit claims online using the Claim Detail screen, and the ability to view and screen print IVG claim history via the School Claim History: View screen.
  • School List

Colleges can identify the term and academic year and define columns to display a list of students included in a previous claim. The list can be used to submit a claim for a subsequent term, make corrections or replacement claims or view the claim history for the students included in the School Claim List.

Reports

Two types of IVG reports available at My Zone are: User-Defined reports and Payment Results reports.  Both types of reports can be viewed online, printed or saved on a desktop in a Portable Document Format (PDF).

  • User-Defined reports are generated from eligibility data based on criteria identified by the user and can be requested at any time. User-Defined reports include: Eligibility by Status, Payment Claim by School Code and Term and Payment Claim by Student.
  • Pre-defined reports include Payment Claim Reports (Summary of Claims, Accepted Claims and Rejected Claims) and Invoice reports. These reports are in a pre-defined format and are available to retrieve the day after claims are processed.

File Extract

Results for claims submitted online or via File Transfer Protocol (FTP) are available to retrieve from the File Extract option in the left menu.
