As the financial aid community continues to work through the impacts of the delay in the opening of the 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) and subsequent issues, ISAC has taken the opportunity to review a number of our processes and procedures with an eye toward any administrative flexibility we may be able to provide. Specific details regarding such flexibilities, which are effective immediately, are provided in an
April 24 e-Message.
An
April 23 e-Message provides updates regarding the submission of 2023-24 payment requests (claims) and benefit usage data for several ISAC-administered
gift assistance programs.
Proposed rules amendments, as published in the
April 19 Illinois Register, are open for public comment. Instructions for submitting comments are in the Register. The 45-day comment period expires on June 3, 2024.
An
April 17 e-Message announces recent changes to the registration and update process for the
ISAC Gift Assistance Programs (GAP) Access portal. These changes, which are effective immediately, have made it easier for Primary Administrators to oversee and manage GAP usage by the staff in their offices.
GAP Access is now accepting third term payment claim requests/benefit usage data for these programs: Illinois National Guard Grant, Minority Teachers of Illinois Scholarship, Golden Apple Scholars and Post-Master School Social Work Scholarship.
An
April 1 e-Message announces that the annual reporting of postsecondary institutions' budget information to ISAC is underway, and provides details regarding the manner in which colleges participating in the
Monetary Award Program (MAP) and the
Illinois Veteran Grant (IVG) and
Illinois National Guard (ING) Grant programs will submit required budget data for the 2024-25 processing cycle. Further details are also available via the
Gift Assistance Budget Instructions page, as well as in the
ISAC's Budget Reporting Process User Guide. Submit 2024-25 budget data to ISAC on or before Saturday, June 1, 2024.
