BEWARE OF SCAM on Instagram attempting to impersonate ISAC!

We have become aware of a scammer on Instagram using the name love_haleyyy (Haley Smith) who falsely claims they are associated with ISAC and is sending direct messages to individuals. This person is not associated with this agency and appears to be attempting to perpetrate a fraud by accessing individuals' bank accounts. This person appears to be targeting students by messaging those whose social media profiles include an email address associated with an educational institution. ISAC is a state agency that administers state grant and scholarship programs that are paid to students through their institutions. We communicate with students only through secure email and our ISAC phone numbers, and we will never contact a student about their grants or loans through social media. If you are contacted by this person about a “grant giveaway” or anything else, do not share any private banking information with them and please immediately report both the profile and the message on Instagram by following the instructions below. Report a scam Instagram (report as spam or abuse):

To report a message:

1. Open the conversation in the Instagram app.
2. Tap and hold the individual message you'd like to report.
3. Select Report.

To report a profile:

1. Tap  (iOS) or  (Android) in the top right of the profile
2. Tap Report
3. Follow the on-screen instructions
