Illinois Special Education Teacher Tuition Waiver (SETTW) Program

ISAC is no longer accepting applications for the 2012-13 Illinois SETTW Program. The priority application consideration date for the 2012-13 academic year was March 1, 2012. All 2012-13 tuition waivers have been awarded, with priority consideration given to those complete applications postmarked on or before March 1, 2012. We anticipate the application for the 2013-14 Illinois SETTW Program being available at this website in the fall of 2012. Illinois Veteran Grant (IVG) Program Application

Please be aware that a qualified applicant must notify their college of their eligibility status as soon as possible, but no later than the last scheduled date of classes for the term for which the grant is requested. It is the applicant's responsibility to obtain and submit all required documentation to allow the application to be processed within the required time. We recommend that all applicants carefully review the "Illinois Veteran Grant (IVG) Program" page, located under "Grants" in the Types of Financial Aid section, prior to completing the application.

Grant Program for Dependents of Police or Fire Officers

If recent trends in the volume of qualified applicants and available funding continues for the 2011-12 academic year, this program may not cover full benefits for each term. The latest information regarding this program can be found at the "Grant Program for Dependents of Police or Fire Officers" page, located under "Grants" in the Types of Financial Aid section.

Grant Program for Dependents of Correctional Officers

If recent trends in the volume of qualified applicants and available funding continues for the 2011-12 academic year, this program may not cover full benefits for each term. Bonus Incentive Grant (BIG)

Due to limited funding and high application volume, ISAC has determined that the number of  applications received for the 2011-12 BIG Program exceeds the available appropriation. Therefore, the application to apply for the BIG Program during the 2011-12 academic year is no longer available.  The latest information regarding this program, including information about funding, can be found at the "College Savings Bond Bonus Incentive Grant (BIG) Program" page, located under "Grants" in the Types of Financial Aid section.

John R. Justice Student Loan Repayment Program

The priority application consideration date for the 2011-12 John R. Justice Student Loan Repayment Program is Wednesday, November 30, 2011. The latest information regarding this program can be found at the “John R. Justice Student Loan Repayment Program” page, located under “Loan Forgiveness Programs” in the After College section.

  • The 2011-12 application is no longer available, as funding has been exhausted.

Nurse Educator Loan Repayment Program

Because applications are not being accepted for the federal Child Care Provider Loan Forgiveness Program, no Illinois Child Care Provider Loan Repayment Program awards can be made.     Funding for the Illinois Future Teacher Corps (IFTC) has been phased over to the Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois program. Academic year 2011-12 was the final year of IFTC funding.
