Please note that this video explains how MAP works in a typical year when a final budget is in place. Illinois is currently without a budget or a final MAP appropriation for state Fiscal Year 2017, which began July 1, 2016. While ISAC announced estimated MAP awards for the 2016-17 school year, the state cannot pay schools for MAP without a state budget and final appropriation. For more information, see additional materials in this Media Kit regarding MAP and the Budget Delay. ISAC is hopeful that the Governor and the General Assembly will agree on a final FY 2017 budget soon.
