Illinois Special Education Teacher Tuition Waiver (SETTW) Program

Please note: the Illinois Special Education Teacher Tuition Waiver is a program created by an Act of the Illinois General Assembly. Further action by the legislature could make changes to the program that affect the future availability of this benefit.

ISAC is no longer accepting applications for the 2017-18 Illinois SETTW Program. The 2017-18 Illinois SETTW Program priority application consideration date was March 1, 2017. Complete applications postmarked after that date are considered for the Illinois SETTW Program only if available waivers remain after all timely complete applicants have been awarded. It is anticipated that the application for the 2018-19 Illinois SETTW Program will be available at this website in mid-December of 2017. Grant Program for Dependents of Police or Fire Officers

If recent trends in the volume of qualified applicants and available funding continue for the 2017-18 academic year, this program may not cover full benefits for each term. The latest information regarding this program, including application deadline dates, can be found at the "Grant Program for Dependents of Police or Fire Officers" page, located under "Grants" in the Types of Financial Aid section.

John R. Justice Student Loan Repayment Program

ISAC is no longer accepting applications for the 2016-17 John R. Justice Student Loan Repayment Program.

Nurse Educator Loan Repayment Program

Veterans' Home Medical Providers' Loan Repayment Program

Awarding for the fiscal year 2018 (July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018) Veterans' Home Medical Providers' Loan Repayment Program has been completed, and all qualified applicants have been notified by ISAC. Applications for the 2018 fiscal year are no longer being accepted. Dependent upon program funding, the Veterans' Home Medical Providers' Loan Repayment Program application for the 2019 fiscal year (July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019) is expected to be available on our website during the summer of 2018.

Illinois Teachers Loan Repayment Program

ISAC is no longer accepting applications for the Illinois Teachers Loan Repayment Program for fiscal year 2017 (July 1, 2016 – June 30, 2017).  Following the recent approval of state operating budgets for fiscal years 2017 and 2018, ISAC staff is working diligently to review and analyze the impact to each of our programs and to determine the next steps in delivering student awards. 

Because the Illinois Teachers Loan Repayment Program application must be submitted within six months of the date of the Notice of Federal Teacher Loan Forgiveness eligibility, we encourage you to complete and submit the fiscal year 2018 (July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018) application as soon as possible to ensure the deadline is not missed.
