Upcoming In-Person Illinois Postsecondary and Career Expectations (PACE) Trainings

We are excited to announce our new half-day trainings on the Illinois Postsecondary and Career Expectations (PaCE) Framework. Registration is open to school counselors, administrators, college and career staff, and others who support students to be college and career ready. The training is free  and will be held in two parts.

Under Public Act 102-0917, by July 1st, 2025, ALL public high schools will be required to adopt and implement a Postsecondary and Career Expectations (PaCE) Framework. ISAC is the state agency leading the efforts in conducting PaCE training and developing related materials, and in supporting collaborations to build and identify resources. ISAC created this training to help schools successfully adopt and begin implementation of the PaCE Framework for their own schools.

Thank you to St. Francis University, Shawnee Community College, and Lincoln Land Community College for their partnership in hosting this training. Please scroll to find links to register.

Check back to this page to see updates on when Part 1 will be offered again.

Part 1 is perfect for those just getting started with adopting PaCE, and will consist of two modules, including time to connect with ISAC representatives and work within your team:

Module 1: Starting with a Good Plan

In this module, we go over the necessary planning steps that are included in the process of adopting and implementing a PaCE framework. We will discuss defining roles, setting goals, and finding your “why.”

Module 2: It Takes a Community

In this module, we discuss the importance of school district collaboration, building a PaCE learning community, and leveraging community resources.

PaCE Half Day Training Part 2 (Registration open):

Part 2 of this training is perfect for those at any level in the process of implementation who are looking for ideas on how to build a PaCE culture, collect and use data, and work PaCE into their school day. Part two will consist of two modules, including time to connect with ISAC representatives and work within your team:

PaCE Module 3: Centering your Students

In this module, we discuss creating a PaCE culture within the school building, how to implement PaCE programming within the school day, and making the connection to students' futures.

PaCE Module 4: Tracking your Progress

In this module, we discuss why tracking your progress in implementing a PaCE framework is so important. We help you identify tools to gather data, so you know how to use insights from data to increase equity, inclusion, access, and opportunity for students.
