ISAC 2020 FAFSA Symposium Septermber 29, 2020

The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) held the 2^nd annual Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA^®) Symposium on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 from 9am – 3:15pm. This year will, of course, was an all-virtual event. While we missed seeing everyone in person, we appreciate those of you who joined us online for this free one-day share and learn event!

As Illinois begins implementation of the state’s new FAFSA mandate, this conference provided an opportunity to strengthen student supports in completing the FAFSA or Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid. Individuals who are new to the world of financial aid and those who have helped students complete a FAFSA before shared and learned at the FAFSA Symposium. This event focused on the following strategies to support high school partners, postsecondary partners and community-based organizations:

Preparing students and families to complete the FAFSA or Alternative Application
Supporting high schools’ FAFSA or Alternative Application completion efforts
ISAC resources and support available to school districts and organizations
