Default Aversion Assistance
The Notification of Student Loan Borrower DAAR Status Report (DAAR Report) is available to colleges as a cohort default rate reduction tool. The DAAR Report contains a list of students who borrowed Federal Stafford loans while enrolled at that college who now have active Default Aversion Assistance Requests (DAARs). DAAR’s are submitted to guarantors by lenders/servicers when a borrower is at least 60 days delinquent on student loan repayment and collection assistance is being requested.
The School DAAR Report is non-cumulative and available to colleges with students for whom ISAC received a DAAR during the reporting period. The report contains information that can be used to contact delinquent borrowers and counsel them in avoiding default.
School DAAR Reports can be obtained by contacting the School Services Department.
